Rental activities and winter clothing 2020
The war that has been going on for more than five years has posed a great challenge on the humanitarian level to humanitarian organizations and institutions, as it cast a shadow on various aspects of life, whether on the economic, family or psychological level, as thousands of poor families who feared for their lives and security in the areas where the war broke out and air raids escalated were displaced, especially in the western border areas, which accelerated the pace of displacement to the interior of the province in Sa’ada governorate. Hence, many displaced families were forced to rent homes to shelter their members and protect them from potential risks, despite their difficult living and lack of sources of income, which exacerbated the situation and caused the accumulation of rents on the displaced families with their inability to pay them.
Yemen Development Foundation was not absent from the reality experienced by the displaced families, as it initiated the intervention through the activity (cash aid – rental subsidies) to alleviate the suffering of the families most affected and in need of assistance, so it began coordinating the field visits and started, through its field team, field surveys in more than ten districts, where (5136) HHs were targeted with rental assistance in 2020.
Also, many displaced and very poor families in various districts are completely unable to buy winter clothes and protect their children in the winter season from the dangers of cold and the diseases it causes that threaten the health of children and endanger them, which necessitated the intervention of Yemen Development Foundation through the activity (winterization) and providing Aid for (1468) HHs in 2020 to protect the displaced families from the dangers of the freezing cold and its effects on the family individuals.
