Shelter project activities during 2020

Undoubtedly, most of the displaced families live in difficult situations and deteriorating living conditions in light of the ongoing war and the lack of job opportunities,as many displaced families lack the most basic necessities of life, as they have left behind all their possessions and abandoned their original homeland in order to preserve their safety to their new places of inhabitancy, which exposes their members to protection risks, including the disintegration and displacement.

What dominates the situation of displaced families is the lack of shelter materials such as (mattresses - blankets - kitchen set - mats – solar lamp), which are necessary to practice daily activities, gather family members and resume their lives again, especially families supported by women or elderly heads of households.

Also, many families are forced to live in a dilapidated tent that is unfit for habitation, or live in service facilitiessuch as (schools - health facilities) and need humanitarian intervention, by providing a shelter (tent) to help them get out of their harsh conditions and lead a better life.

The intervention of Yemen Development Foundation with (UNHCR) through (NFIs - ESKs) activities had a profound impact on the souls of many displaced and homeless families, which contributed to drawing smiles on sad faces and bringing joy and happiness to afflicted hearts by alleviating their suffering and helping them to overcome their ordeal.

The role of the Yemen Development Foundation was clear in providing shelter assistance to the displaced in various districts within the governorate of Saada during the first quarter of this year 2020 in the districts of Sa’ada and Sahar, as (1948) families were targeted with non-food aid and (669) families through shelter activities)ESKs) who live in the open or uninhabitable places
