YDF / June 2021
Community awareness of the law represents the cornerstone in protecting the rights of vulnerable groups and building a coexisting society with equal rights and duties, and it is the guarantor of the rights and freedoms of all societal groups without exception.
The services provided by the community center for the displaced are not limited to providing in-kind, cash and non-food services only, and among those services provided, the service of legal support for the displaced and returning families and the host community, including those with special needs.
The reports of the community center indicate that 86 people received support services and legal advice during the month of June 2021, in addition to legal awareness about 14 messages related to the displaced and returnees from displacement and the rights of different vulnerable groups
57% of the legal support was related to counseling to issue personal cards, as most of the displaced families lost their documents due to the destruction of their home due to the war or during displacement, and the percentage of those who received counseling to obtain family cards was 24% because they lost their IDs or their children became homemakers.
19% of the legal support provided was related to travelers who needed legal advice on the procedures for issuing birth certificates, housing, land, and property, and other advice.
It is worth noting the protection project implemented by the Foundation through the Community Center, funded by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
